Millions of Dollars Paid, Yet No Essential Weapons Received from Russia, Deputy Minister Says

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Mnatsakan Safaryan, has stated that Armenia has not received the necessary weapons from Russia, despite having paid millions of dollars for them.

“The work is ongoing, the weapons have indeed not reached Armenia. We are trying to continue the work; there is nothing more to add,” the deputy minister informed reporters during a conversation in the National Assembly.

The Deputy Foreign Minister did not disclose why the weapons have not arrived in Armenia. When asked how much money had been paid to the Russian side, Safaryan urged to direct the inquiry to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

It is also noteworthy that Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan had made a similar remark in an interview with Novaya Gazeta, stating that payments had been made for the ordered weapons.
