The Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Vahe Ghazaryan, along with the Chief of Police, General-Major Aram Hovhannisyan, have instructed police officers during a police board meeting to actively engage with the population to encourage citizens to voluntarily surrender any weapons or ammunition they may possess to law enforcement.

This was reported by Shamshyan.com.

On May 18th, around 11:00 PM, an unidentified citizen alerted the Police Operational Management Center, stating that he is a participant of the Artsakh 44-Day War and had left his weapons and ammunition near a trash can located 100 meters from the bridge in the Valley of Korea.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the operational group of the Arabkir Division of the Armenian Police and the patrol officers of the police's first company in Yerevan promptly arrived at the scene.

Police officers discovered a submachine gun, three magazines, six grenades, a rifle stock, three clips, two mortar shells, and three polyethylene bags filled with various calibers of cartridges at the mentioned location.

Materials related to the incident have been prepared by the Arabkir Division of the Police and transferred to the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan Investigative Division, where an investigation has been initiated regarding the case.
