Video: Children Found Alive After 16 Days in Colombian Jungle

Colombian armed forces have found four children alive in the jungles of the Caquetá department, who had been missing for 16 days after their Cessna 206 aircraft crashed, announced President Gustavo Petro.

"We have found the four children who went missing after the plane crash in Guaviare. This is a moment of joy for the country," Petro wrote on Twitter.

On May 1, the Cessna 206 aircraft sent a distress signal. It was discovered after 370 hours of searching. The body of the pilot was found on board, but six passengers, including four children, were not located.

According to El Tiempo, the two bodies found later belong to the second pilot and the children’s mother, who was also a passenger. The children are ages 13, 9, 4, and 11 months. Local media report that they are now safe.
