"The Poor Credit History of Certified Soldiers Will Be Forgiven," Says Deputy Prime Minister

"The Poor Credit History of Certified Soldiers Will Be Forgiven," Says Deputy Prime Minister

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, addressing the program for granting mortgage loans to soldiers, noted that an important agreement has been reached with the Central Bank.

“The problem of credit histories is critical. We have an agreement that as soon as the certification process begins, we will also resolve this issue in parallel with an agreement with the Central Bank. Specifically, if a soldier passes the certification and even has a negative credit history, we will provide a solution whereby the negative credit history will not hinder participation in this program. We will consider that the individual’s professional capabilities and job stability allow the negative impact of the credit history to be neutralized,” he said.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also mentioned that this addresses a practical issue, as there are individuals on the credit “blacklist” who will receive support to improve their credit histories in the case of positive certification.

The Minister of Defense also stated that there are certain issues that need to be negotiated with the Central Bank.
