Belarus Will Not Allow the CSTO to Fragment and Weaken: Lukashenko

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, while meeting with participants of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council, stated that preserving the unity within the CSTO is crucial to maintaining the sovereignty and independence of its members. This was reported by BelTA.

“I am confident that the slogan of Belarus's presidency, ‘Peace and Security Through Solidarity and Cooperation,’ aligns with the interests of all CSTO members. In this regard, we cannot shy away from the issue of our unity. Belarus aims to make the necessary efforts to enhance the cohesion of CSTO countries during its presidency. We must not allow a split at this critical moment in our history. The strong of the world are trying to redistribute it, and we are in the spotlight. We must unite. There is no alternative to preserving the sovereignty and independence of our states,” emphasized Lukashenko.

The Belarusian leader also remarked that several countries in the post-Soviet space are facing various problems and challenges. “But we somehow gathered together, discussed the issues. Sometimes we took significant actions to calm the situation at certain points in the post-Soviet space. This is worth a lot. They are trying to divide us. As an experienced person, I want to ask: Be careful, do not fall for these tricks without noise; you must seek where it is better for you, where it is better for your peoples,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
