Zakharchenko Calls on Azerbaijani and Armenian Sides to Avoid Escalation
Moscow expects that the tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan, scheduled for May 19, will contribute to the advancement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani process and the resolution of disputed issues. This announcement was made today during a briefing by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
She reminded that incidents of ceasefire violations were reported in the Sotk area on May 11 and 12. “Unfortunately, during the period of May 11-12, there have been ceasefire regime violations from both sides along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The situation has now stabilized, and we urge the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides to refrain from provocative actions and escalation,” Zakharova added.
She emphasized that all issues should be resolved on a diplomatic level.
