Video: Women Arrested in Moscow for Selling Newborn Girl in Shopping Center

A group of three women was arrested in northern Moscow for selling a newborn baby to an unknown buyer. The Russian Investigative Committee has already initiated an investigation into the case.

According to reports, the incident occurred on May 15 at a shopping center in the northern part of the capital. The women valued the baby girl, born in 2023, at 60,000 rubles. As reported by REN TV, the buyer was an undercover agent from law enforcement.

"Immediately after the preparation of the necessary documents for the transfer of money and the baby, the women were taken into custody," the statement reads.

Investigators are currently clarifying the circumstances of the incident, reviewing video footage, and searching for witnesses. The girl is under medical supervision and is not in danger.
