Serious Dissatisfaction in Law Enforcement System: 'Hayots Ashkharh'
The newspaper 'Hayots Ashkharh' reports that informed sources have conveyed that representatives of the domestic law enforcement system, along with several members of the parliamentary faction of the Civil Contract party, the chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, and members of the prosecution and investigative bodies have held heated discussions in Tsaghkadzor over the weekend.
The issue at hand is that representatives of the domestic authority continually face challenges related to the Criminal Procedure Code. These challenges pertain to the timelines for arrests, court operations, and the overload of the judicial system. The legal framework is consistently embroiled in heated battles over these issues, which often lead to internal conflicts and sometimes escalate into public discussions.
The legal system has decided to gather and listen to each other. It should be noted that the Tsaghkadzor meeting was chaired by Vladimir Vardanyan, the head of the parliamentary commission on state-legal issues, who, according to our sources, was occasionally 'assisted' by the Chairman of the CEC, Vahagn Hovakimyan. Although he is the head of an independent body, he sometimes takes on the role of a former parliament member.
Attendees also vigorously debated Hovakimyan's presence at the gathering, as it left everyone puzzled about what a head of an independent system was doing at such meetings.
Additionally, key lawmakers from the ruling party, including Arpi Davoyan, Lili Minasyan, Armen Khachatryan, and Alkhaz Ghazaryan, as well as Nikol Pashinyan's advisor, Nazeli Baghdasaryan from Gyumri, traveled to Tsaghkadzor.
The representatives of the government seem to have spent time together, while the law enforcement system intensely examined its internal affairs. According to our sources, there are serious grievances within the system, and it has been decided to meet again in the same format soon.
