May 28 Will Be the Harbinger of Turkey's 100th Anniversary: Erdogan

May 28 elections will mark the beginning of a new era for Turkey. This was stated by the current President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on his Twitter microblog, addressing the results of the first round of presidential elections held in Turkey and the second round scheduled for May 28.

According to him, the 'Republican Alliance' has proudly overcome the first round of the presidential elections.

'We have fought hard, regardless of provocations and pressures. We have not given in to difficulties,' Erdogan wrote.

Erdogan added that the success achieved on May 14 should be crowned with an even greater victory. 'Turkey expects actions from us. The earthquake victims expect us to heal their wounds soon,' he wrote, adding that they will make May 28 the harbinger of 'Turkey's 100th anniversary.'
