We Have a Serious Problem: Samvel Babayan

"I am not interested in a position. I come to serve you," stated former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army Samvel Babayan at a rally of the United Homeland Party in Stepanakert today.

Babayan emphasized that they are obliged to see the country free and independent, as they declared a long time ago.

He mentioned that there are serious problems because they could become refugees: "Yesterday in Brussels, it was announced that Azerbaijan has 86,600 km² of territory, which includes Artsakh. Armenia recognizes that Azerbaijan. That is its right. This is why I have been speaking for two years, presenting what issues we need to address."

According to Babayan, there is no need for any fighting: "We must live, create, innovate, and be protected. This is our future, and we must go down this path."

He outlined the five points that must be fulfilled in Artsakh. The first, according to Babayan, is defense, which must be organized with a professional army, and the second is improving the demographic situation.
