Grigori Khachaturov to Remain in Custody
The Anti-Corruption Court, in a decision by Judge Aram Grigoryan, has extended the custody of former Commander of the 3rd Army Corps, Major General Grigori Khachaturov, for another three months. The court session lasted about six hours.
Earlier today, attorney Mihran Poghosyan stated in a conversation with journalists that not releasing Grigori Khachaturov is a crime. “I am reporting a crime. There is no such thing where a person, for example, is detained at 00:15 and must remain in custody continuously; such matters are not calculated by day. This is excluded and is not provided for by any law. Any issue regarding an individual’s freedom is calculated by the hour. Right now, they are committing a crime by not releasing him,” said Poghosyan.
He also called on Khachaturov’s supporters to present the true character of Judge Aram Grigoryan beneath the courtroom windows, labeling him a criminal.
Major General Khachaturov is accused of money laundering.
