VIDEO: Incidents Abound in Turkey as Fights Break Out with Sticks and Stones
As is known, presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey began today at 08:00. Various videos have already appeared on social media showing supporters of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) leader and presidential candidate Recep Tayyip Erdoğan engaged in arguments with supporters of the main opposition party, the Republican People's Party (CHP) leader and joint candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, leading to brawls.
According to Haber Global, fights with sticks and stones have occurred between different candidate supporters in Şanlıurfa at two polling stations. A significant brawl took place, for example, at a polling station in the Bahçelievler district of Istanbul, reports Ermenihaber.
It is worth noting that Turkish citizens are showing great interest in the elections. Long lines are forming at polling stations located in the western part of Istanbul. Many ballot boxes are already full, but according to members of the electoral commissions, there are no new ones available, so they will attempt to fit the ballots into the existing boxes.
