Details on the Tense Meeting Between Pashinyan and Families of Captured Soldiers
According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, parents of soldiers who went missing, were captured, or are unaccounted for during the 44-day war spent a night on the asphalt outside Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's residence and met with him yesterday. The meeting started at 3:30 PM and ended at 5:00 PM. Parents left the meeting angrily, not receiving answers to their pressing questions about the whereabouts of their children and what steps the Prime Minister is taking to secure their return.
"Zhoghovurd" learned that investigative officers from the RA Investigative Committee were present at the meeting, during which parents expressed that they have been working for nearly three years, but the information received from the investigators is insufficient, indicating that their work is inadequate. It was reported that one parent grew angry and left the meeting. Several parents stood up in frustration during the conversation, but they were calmed down by their relatives. The parents demanded that their children be found and raised the issue of why Aliyev is not fulfilling his obligations and returning their children.
The parents also questioned why, given the numerous meetings and negotiations, the issue of missing and forcibly disappeared children is not being addressed. "We haven’t heard you mention our children’s case even once during your discussions… say something publicly so that we can believe you," the parents expressed their frustration during the meeting with Pashinyan.
Finally, the conversation turned to the alleged 11,000 draft dodgers mentioned by Pashinyan's wife, Anna Hakobian. Parents reported that the investigators present at the meeting disputed the existence of such a figure, reminding them that it was the Prime Minister's wife who released that number. Pashinyan defended himself, claiming that it was stated in a different context, attempting to defuse the situation.
