Anna Vardapetyan Presents Azerbaijan's Provocative and Aggressive Actions in Strasbourg
The Chief Prosecutor of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, held a series of meetings with officials in Strasbourg, discussing various issues related to the strengthening of human rights, the implementation of European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rulings, and institutional measures.
This information was reported by the press service of the Armenian Prosecutor's Office.
During the meetings, the members of the Armenian delegation referred to human rights violations that occurred during and after the 44-day war in 2020.
They presented the recent provocative and aggressive actions by the Azerbaijani armed forces against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, which took place on May 11, 2023.
Discussions also covered the implementation of ECHR rulings, increasing the effectiveness of the incorporation of European human rights standards, establishing a pre-agency commission for the enforcement of ECHR rulings, and related issues.
The effectiveness of Armenia's steps towards the implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights was highlighted.
Anna Vardapetyan also met with Maria Burić, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, to discuss details of an upcoming international conference organized in cooperation with the Council of Europe, dedicated to the independence of the prosecutor in ensuring the rule of law.
