What information do they have that 33 are captured, where are the other boys? - Taguhi Tovmasyan
In Sotk, it has been more than 20 days of continuous gunfire, yet the authorities of Armenia have remained silent, failing to raise an alarm. The 800 employees of the Sotk gold mine are left in uncertainty, forced into unemployment. Currently, the intensity of the gunfire has changed, with weapons of larger calibers being used; this is the issue. We should have raised an alarm about this earlier, not now.
Taguhi Tovmasyan, the Chairwoman of the Standing Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs of the National Assembly, stated this in an interview with ArmLur.am. "Have you seen any Armenian official speak about the gunfire at the Sotk gold mine during a government session? I do not understand why they are not speaking, I do not understand whom they are avoiding; the fact is that silence has led us to a more serious situation," she said.
Tovmasyan also sounded another alarm regarding the return of captives and the search efforts for the missing: "The Armenian authorities talk about 33 captives, but I met with relatives of the missing and captives yesterday. I want to alert that the Armenian authorities must show consistency. The search efforts for the missing have been halted for nearly two years, and Armenia is not showing any claims. Officials in various circles announce that there are 33 captured soldiers, but what information do they have that there are exactly 33? Where are the other boys? Why are they not discussing those who were forcibly taken or captured during the war?"
