The Question of Suren Papikyan's Dismissal is Still on the Table: A Replacement is Being Sought

The newspaper 'Jamanak' reports that Defense Minister Suren Papikyan has been isolating himself from his fellow party members for quite some time, hardly communicating with anyone, and when he does, he is very cautious. Even when members of the ruling Civil Contract party have questions to discuss with him, he tends to avoid meetings, responding briefly and concretely with statements like 'let it be, we will discuss it later.'

This behavior is strange for the party members as Papikyan has always maintained good relationships within the team, trying to smooth over any disagreements in the past, but that has now changed.

'Jamanak' previously reported that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan aims to dismiss Papikyan, accusing him of falsifying party elections and playing with the party's rating. However, there has been no confirmation of this. Reports about Papikyan's dismissal were entirely shut down as Pashinyan lacked other candidates and eventually suggested that the Defense Minister remain and continue his work.

Although the Civil Contract party members are not vocally addressing the issue right now, it has been noted that Pashinyan has been considering Papikyan's removal for a long time, but a replacement has yet to be found.
