Earthquake at Turkey-Iran Border Felt in Yerevan and Two Regions
On May 11, at 20:17 local time (16:17 GMT), the seismic network of the Armenian National Center for Seismic Protection registered an earthquake at geographical coordinates 39.59°N and 44.58°E, in the Turkey-Iran border area, 65 km south of Yerevan, at a depth of 10 km, with a magnitude of 3.9.
The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral area was measured at 5 points. The earthquake was felt in Yerevan and Kotayk province with an intensity of 2-3 points, and in Ararat province with an intensity of 3-4 points.
