Another Earthquake in Turkey: What is Known
An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale struck Kahramanmaraş province in Turkey today at 18:57 Yerevan time. The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority reports that the quake was recorded 10.4 kilometers east of Göksun at a depth of 11.5 kilometers. There are currently no reports of injuries or damage.
It is worth noting that the February 6 earthquake in Kahramanmaraş and neighboring areas resulted in approximately 51,000 fatalities, with over 107,000 residents sustaining varying degrees of injuries. Around 345,000 buildings were destroyed and nearly 4 million were damaged.
In neighboring Syria, the same earthquake caused at least 8,476 deaths and injured more than 14,500 residents.
