Amid Tensions at the Armenia-Azerbaijan Border, No Meetings with Putin Are Planned, Peskov Says
Russia is acting as a mediator on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue and is calling for restraint from Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was announced by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.
According to the Kremlin spokesman, Moscow will continue its communications with the parties involved. “Russia will continue to carry out the functions stipulated in the trilateral documents and calls for avoiding actions that could lead to an escalation of tensions,” Peskov stated.
He informed that Vladimir Putin and Nikol Pashinyan held a private conversation during the Armenian Prime Minister's visit to Moscow, dedicated to Victory Day. Peskov added that against the backdrop of heightened tensions at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, no communications with Putin are planned at this time with the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan.
