Video: Dog Found Buried in Oil in Russia

In the administrative center of the Jewish Autonomous Region of Russia, emergency services have rescued a dog that was nearly suffocated in oil, according to the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The agency reported that the dog was able to whimper faintly. It was discovered in the area of an abandoned factory. The animal had sunk into the oil to the extent that only a part of its snout was visible.

Rescuing the dog took about an hour. One of the rescuers remarked, “It was extremely difficult to pull him out. I pull on the leash, and he is choking; I loosen the grip, and he is choking in the oil.”

The department added that a resident of Birobidzhan recognized the “suffering animal.”
