Aliyev: Armenians Planned to Capture Nakhichevan Just Like They Intended to Seize Artsakh

Azerbaijan's authoritarian leader Ilham Aliyev has issued a message highlighting Armenians and Armenia as inseparable parts of his narrative. Reflecting on the past, he stated: 'The Armenians planned to seize Nakhichevan just as they intended to capture Artsakh. The occupation of Nakhichevan was an integral part of their agenda; Heydar Aliyev saved Nakhichevan, protecting it from occupation. The Armenian enemy faced a backlash, and Nakhichevan, no matter how difficult it was, even under siege, survived, did not bend, did not break, and continued to exist.'

He also noted that in the past 20 years, there has not been another country in the world that has developed as rapidly as Azerbaijan.
