Fifth Column Existed, I Assume It Exists Now: Kyaramyan

I would be very happy if many people volunteered in Shushi, and perhaps in that case, we wouldn’t have lost Shushi. This was noted today by the head of the Investigative Committee, Arghishti Kyaramyan, during a conversation with journalists at the "Victory" park.

In response to a remark that Shushi fell during this government, he responded, "There is no our government, your government. Of course, an investigation has been conducted, and the preliminary investigation into the criminal case has been completed in this regard. The case is currently at the judicial examination phase."

To a question about whether he advises the Prime Minister not to speak since many cases are under the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee and there are preliminary investigation secrets, Kyaramyan replied, "I have no authority to give advice to the Prime Minister or to communicate on this matter at all. The Prime Minister has never interfered with our activities, and I do not report to anyone."

Kyaramyan also promised that one day society will clearly know who the representatives of the fifth column are, who caused the defeat. "There was a fifth column, I assume there is one now," he said, adding, "Many cases regarding the fifth column are being investigated, some have already been resolved. Some have been made public, and some, based on the interests of the preliminary investigation, have not yet been made public. But the time will come when our society will receive answers to all the questions that concern it, knowing exactly who the representatives of the fifth column are, why we lost, and what circumstances led to our defeat and how it began and ended. I promise you that."
