Delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan Make Significant Progress, Says US State Department Spokesperson
The United States describes last week’s negotiations in Washington, D.C. involving the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan as constructive. This information was shared by Vedant Patel, deputy spokesperson for the US State Department.
“In our view, the discussions from last week were constructive, and we believe that the delegations from Armenia and Azerbaijan have made significant progress in addressing difficult issues. The two countries have reached a principled agreement on certain conditions and have gained a better understanding of each other's perspectives. We are confident that with additional goodwill, flexibility, and compromise, it will be possible to reach an agreement,” Patel stated.
He reaffirmed the full support and involvement of the United States in promoting dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as in achieving sustainable and lasting peace.
