Cavushoglu to Visit Moscow Tomorrow
Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavushoglu will visit Moscow on May 10, as reported by Anadolu Agency. During his two-day visit, he will participate in the quadrilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, Iran, Syria, and Turkey.
According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, discussions will focus on the normalization of Turkish-Syrian relations, the fight against terrorism, promoting a political settlement in Syria, and the safe and dignified return of refugees.
It is noted that several bilateral meetings are also planned during the visit.
Previously, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavushoglu stated that he intends to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov as part of the quadrilateral summit on Syria scheduled for May 10 in Moscow.
Cavushoglu mentioned that a meeting of the foreign ministers of Turkey, Russia, Syria, and Iran is scheduled for May 10 in Moscow.
In December 2022, Russia hosted the first talks between the defense ministers of Turkey and Syria in the last 11 years. The Iranian foreign minister welcomed the negotiations between Syria and Turkey.
In April, the defense ministers of the four countries met in Moscow. At that time, Turkey's Ministry of Defense noted that the meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere, and the parties emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue in the quadrilateral format.
