Anthems of Armenia and Russia Echo at Victory Park

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, along with President Vahagn Khachaturyan, members of the Government, and deputies of the 'Civil Contract' faction, visited Victory Park to commemorate the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The state officials laid flowers at the Unknown Soldier monument, paying tribute to the memory of the fallen and congratulating the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

According to 'Hraparak', the anthems of Armenia and Russia were played at Victory Park, and a ceremonial procession of military columns from both countries took place. Attendees also observed a solemn march of the Armed Forces of Armenia and personnel from the Russian military base.

The participation of over half a million Armenians in the Great Patriotic War was of significant importance in the path to victory. Legendary military commanders fell heroically on the battlefield, and nearly 300,000 Armenian soldiers performed numerous feats. 107 Armenians were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
