Son Strangles Mother to Death and Calls Hospital, Claims Sudden Death: Details from Investigative Committee

On May 6, an 85-year-old woman from Sevan was murdered by her son. During an argument over household issues, the son assaulted his mother and strangled her with his hands.

The Investigative Committee's report states that on May 6 at 20:55, a man called the Sevan Medical Center and reported that his mother had died suddenly at home. However, during the investigation at the scene, bruises and hematomas were found on the body, particularly on the face and neck, as well as injuries to the upper and lower limbs of the corpse.

It was determined that on the same day around 16:00, during an argument over household matters at their home, the 50-year-old man had attacked his mother and strangled her.

According to the report, the victim's son has been arrested and during interrogation, he provided a confession. A request has been submitted to the supervising prosecutor to initiate public criminal proceedings against the 50-year-old man, which has been approved. The investigation is ongoing.
