If Other Options Do Not Work, We Must Forcefully Drive the Azerbaijanis Back: Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff
On May 8, during a conversation with reporters, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces Tiran Khachatryan addressed the incident that took place in the village of Tegh in the Syunik region.
“A commander of arbitrary order, starting from the squad commander, understands that a problem may arise for their subordinate within the context of what they are capable of performing. If a problem was posed and they were unable to execute, then that is the problem of the one who posed the issue. If no problem was posed, then who was supposed to pose it and why did they not do so? Where did the thread of not posing begin? I do not know whether a problem was posed or if it was posed and not executed,” he stated.
According to Tiran Khachatryan, one of the solutions is to forcefully drive the Azerbaijanis back. “Of course, there are political and diplomatic approaches, the implementation of which is a mandatory requirement, and no one, especially a military person, will immediately take the step that could lead to a confrontation, let alone a large-scale war. But if the political and diplomatic options do not work and there is a problem that this is our territory and the sector of responsibility entrusted to us, for which I bear life responsibility, then we must proceed to that,” Khachatryan emphasized.
