Government Currently Has No Information on Possible Meeting Between Pashinyan and Aliyev
The government currently has no information regarding a possible meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on May 14 in Brussels. This was stated by Armen Khachatryan, the head of the government's information and public relations department, in an interview with NEWS.am.
It is worth noting that the Financial Times reported that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev, would hold negotiations in Brussels on May 14.
According to officials, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia will resume peace talks in Brussels this weekend, as Western allies intensify mediation efforts. President of the European Council Charles Michel will host Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Sunday. This will be the first time the two leaders meet in person since negotiations held in Munich in February. This follows extensive discussions between the foreign ministers of the two countries in Washington. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has stated that those talks have made 'tangible progress' toward a long-term peace agreement and that he believes 'an agreement is visible and attainable,' the source reported.
