The Spirit of Ukraine at Charles III's Coronation

Twitter users mocked the rug in the colors of the Ukrainian flag during the coronation of Charles III. Many drew attention to the carpet in Westminster Abbey, which resembles the Ukrainian flag, during the formal event. The British ambassador to Ukraine, Melinda Simmons, wrote on her microblog,  ‘I saw Ukraine there and lost my mind for a minute.’  Under her post, opinions were shared by Twitter users, although many noted the similarities.

‘There are coded messages and symbolic references everywhere, if you know where to look and what to look for,’ one commentator wrote. ‘It could be a tribute to Barbados,’ joked another.
