Napoli Becomes Italian Champion Again After 33 Years

Napoli has become the Italian champion again after 33 years. In the 33rd round of the Italian Serie A, Napoli faced Udinese. The match, which was largely evenly contested, ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the 13th minute, Sandi Lovrić opened the scoring for the home side, while Victor Osimhen equalized for the visitors from Naples in the 52nd minute. Following this draw, Napoli earned 80 points and, with five matches remaining in the season, became unreachable for its rivals, thus claiming the Serie A title after 33 years.

The last time the Neapolitan team became champions was during the 1989/90 season when Diego Maradona was part of the squad. Overall, Napoli has won the Serie A championship three times.

Head coach Luciano Spalletti acknowledged that he dedicates the victory to his players, the club staff, and the fans who truly deserve this title.
