Turkish Minister Reveals Reason for Closing Airspace to Armenia

It was recently reported that Turkey has closed its airspace to Armenia for flights to third countries. This statement was made by Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The Turkish minister explained the closure of airspace by referencing the unveiling of a monument to the heroes of the 'Nemesis' operation in Yerevan. The purpose of 'Nemesis' was to eliminate the leaders of the Young Turks who organized the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. This information was reported by TASS.

Recall that on April 25, a monument was opened in Yerevan honoring the heroes of the 'Nemesis' operation, which took retribution against those responsible for the Armenian Genocide. Earlier, it was reported that on April 29, Turkey closed its airspace to the Armenian airline 'FlyOne Armenia' without prior notice; a flight from Paris to Yerevan was forced to land in Chișinău and only touched down at Zvartnots Airport on the night of April 30.
