The Clergy is Deeply Concerned About the Recent Notable Fears of the Catholicos: "Hraparak"

According to the newspaper "Hraparak": "Strange news is reaching us from the Mother Cathedral of St. Etchmiadzin: Our sources report that the clergy is deeply concerned about the notable fears recently exhibited by the Catholicos. Of course, the Catholicos has never particularly shone with courage, and his entire activity is a vivid proof of that; however, the escalation of fears recently has surpassed all expectations.

Our sources say that Garegin II is looking for traitors and informants everywhere, but not in the context of Armenia’s sovereignty or the depopulation of Artsakh, rather purely in the context of safeguarding his personal security and maintaining his position as Catholicos. Informed sources indicate that Garegin II's fears have grown so intense that widespread eavesdropping has begun in various departments of the Mother Cathedral, in work rooms, and even in the restaurant operating within the Mother Cathedral where representatives of the clergy often dine.

The clergy believes that the root cause of these pathological fears stems from unresolved relations with the authorities. This is why the Catholicos seeks to have compromising materials on clergy members who are somewhat well-known in the public eye, so he can potentially 'discipline' them in the manner required at the necessary time. Interestingly, there is also a possibility that separate conversations, videos, and discrediting materials of various clergy members may be published to completely tarnish their reputations."
