We Are Not Planning to Leave Dadivank: Father Hovhannes on Azerbaijan's Statement
Vicar Father Hovhannes Khachanyan insists that they are not planning to leave Dadivank. "They say whatever they want because the leader of Armenia recognizes Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. Go and ask him what he thinks about it," Father Hovhannes Khachanyan stated in an interview with Aysor.am.
According to him, all the monks are currently in Dadivank. "I am here, on my land, in my house, in my church. Let the leader of the Republic of Armenia answer that question," he added.
Hripsime Arakelyan, the media relations officer of the Mother See, said in an interview that this issue is currently under discussion and their position will be announced soon.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan is demanding the departure of Armenian monks from Dadivank. “Armenian monks must leave Khudavank (Dadivank),” said Mubarit Gurbanli, the head of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan.
