Aliyev: We Hope Armenia Will Be Constructive, If Not, We Have Other Tools Besides Diplomacy
The conference titled “Formation of Geopolitics of Greater Eurasia: Past, Present, and Future” has commenced in Shushi. During the conference, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev addressed the peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and their potential prospects.
“What will happen in the future is a big question. The signing of a peace agreement is in Armenia's interest; it is primarily beneficial for them. We are the initiators; we are the advocates of a vision for the future; we want to integrate the South Caucasus. … The Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiations should have two directions: one between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the other regarding negotiations with the Armenian community of Azerbaijan. Attempts to introduce the concept of a so-called Nagorno-Karabakh state into the peace agreement are ineffective. We hope that they will be constructive; if not, we have other tools besides diplomacy,” stated the Azerbaijani president.
