Norikyan Files Request for Additional Forensic Examination
Norayr Norikyan, the authorized representative of the parents of soldiers who died in a fire at a military barracks in Azat village, has filed a request for an additional forensic examination.
“The investigation has the right to conduct an additional examination when the findings are ambiguous or incomplete. After obtaining responses to the questions raised by the previous examination, we will discuss the possibility of conducting a second forensic examination,” he stated in an interview with Auroranews.
When asked whether this refers to the autopsy process, he mentioned that they do not exclude that option as well.
It should be noted that according to the results of the forensic examination, the soldiers died from carbon monoxide poisoning and burn shock. The parents and Norikyan did not find these results credible, stating that they have further complicated the scope of contradictions.
The findings of the forensic examination indicated that no drugs or psychoactive substances were found in the bodies of the deceased soldiers, nor were there deviations in blood alcohol content. However, drugs were detected in the system of one of the surviving soldiers. It is not known which soldier it pertains to.
In total, there are five suspects in the fire case, three of whom, including Captain Yeghishe Hakobyan, are detained, while two others have been prohibited from leaving the country.
