A Meeting of the Security Council Convened in Artsakh

The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, convened a meeting of the Security Council on May 1.

According to a circulated statement, the meeting addressed issues regarding the establishment of an Azerbaijani checkpoint in the Lachin corridor, which connects the Republic of Artsakh with the Republic of Armenia, as well as illegal actions by Azerbaijan that obstruct the free movement of Artsakh citizens and related matters.

“The operational situation in the corridor area was presented, emphasizing the necessity of strictly adhering to the provisions of the trilateral statement from November 9, 2020. President Harutyunyan has given relevant instructions to the heads of the appropriate structures, including ensuring the security and supply of essential goods for the four villages in the Shushi region that are under double blockade in cooperation with Russian peacekeepers,” the press service of the President of Artsakh stated.
