18-Year-Old Stabs His Underage Brother in Gegharkunik

On April 30, a stabbing incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At around 20:40, the Martuni Medical Center notified the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia’s Martuni Police Department that a child had been transferred to their facility with a "penetrating stab wound to the left side of the chest." This information was reported by Shamshyan.com.

Police and investigators discovered that the injured party was 16-year-old S.H., a resident of one of the villages in the Gegharkunik region. His mother informed the police and investigators at the hospital that her son had sustained the injury from a fall at their home.

However, the officers from the criminal investigation department of the Martuni Police quickly determined that the mother had lied. The truth is that on the same day, at around 19:30, a dispute occurred between the injured boy and his 18-year-old brother over household matters in their kitchen. The older brother picked up a knife from the kitchen furniture and, during a struggle, struck the younger brother once.

At the crime scene, police and investigators found the weapon, the knife. The suspect was presented to the Martuni Investigative Department from the Martuni Police, where a criminal case was initiated regarding the incident.
