15 Earthquakes Recorded in Kamchatka in One Day
In a single day, 15 earthquakes with a magnitude of 4.2 have been recorded in the area of the Shiveluch volcano located in eastern Kamchatka. This information was reported on the website of the Kamchatka branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences' geophysical service, as stated by kommersant.ru.
The data indicates that all tremors occurred at a distance of 80 to 90 kilometers from the village of Ust-Kamchatsk. The active Shiveluch volcano is located 87 kilometers away from the village.
Meanwhile, TASS adds that today, a plume of ash has been emitted from the Shiveluch volcano, rising to an altitude of up to 3,500 meters.
