"Unacceptable": Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Responds to French Foreign Minister's Statement

Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has responded to the joint press conference of the foreign ministers of Armenia and France, stating that during the event, the French minister made "unfounded demands" that are "unacceptable."

In a statement released by the ministry, the official Baku accused French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna of having "unfounded aspirations," while also expressing regret that the "French side, which presents itself as a party that seeks conflict resolution, has never condemned Armenia over the past 30 years."

"Instead of displaying partial approaches, it would be more useful for the French side to urge Armenia to fulfill its obligations arising from agreements and to refrain from provocations," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's statement said.

It should be reminded that on April 23, Azerbaijan illegally set up a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor, violating trilateral agreements and within the zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeeping forces.
