Events to Be Held in 66 Communities on Citizen's Day
Since 2019, the last Saturday of April has been celebrated as Citizen's Day in the Republic of Armenia. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MoESCS) shared information about the day and events on their Facebook page:
“Citizen's Day is a day of civic dialogue, where different generations come together to discuss issues of public concern, uncover responsibilities of citizens and the state, and anticipate future actions. To this end, on April 29, events will be organized in all provinces of Armenia and in various administrative districts of Yerevan, totaling 66 communities.”
The events consist of two parts: speeches and cultural activities. Young people aged 14 to 21 will participate in the speeches, where they will not only have the opportunity to hear the invited speakers on topics related to active citizenship, the vision for the development of the state, and their roles in the country's progress, but also engage in interesting discussions. The invited speakers will be representatives from the fields of education, science, culture, and sports.
