55-Year-Old Woman Reports Rape by 28-Year-Old Man Who Claimed to be Turkish

At around 06:15, a 55-year-old woman from one of the villages in the Tavush region called the Novemberyan division of the Police and reported that an unknown individual had entered her home and, speaking in Armenian, claimed to be Turkish.

The homeowner informed the police that around 04:00, an unfamiliar man had entered her house, engaged in non-consensual sexual intercourse, and subsequently hit her on various parts of her body, stealing a gold and silver ring and a pair of gold earrings. He then stated in Armenian that he was not Armenian, but rather Azerbaijani, and warned her to remain silent about the incident and not to raise an alarm before fleeing the scene.

The law enforcement authorities, acting swiftly, identified and apprehended a 28-year-old man, Artyom Gh., from the Tavush region, on suspicion of committing the aforementioned crime. Under pressure from the evidence, he not only confessed to the act but also had the stolen jewelry in his possession.
