USA Boxing Federation Exits International Association

The USA Boxing Federation has officially announced its withdrawal from the International Boxing Association (IBA). Reports indicate that the federation's council unanimously decided to leave, citing breaches by the IBA, including a "lack of respect for the Olympic movement," attempts to sabotage the qualification system for boxing at the Paris Olympic Games, and non-compliance with International Olympic Committee (IOC) requirements that prohibit athletes from sanctioned countries from competing under neutral flags.

The American boxing federation also announced the creation of a new international organization called "World Boxing," which will include Great Britain as well.

Previously, the USA team had declined to participate in the men's and women's World Championships in 2023.
