Turkey's Foreign Ministry Comments on the Installation of the Statue Dedicated to the 'Nemesis' Operation in Armenia
Turkey has reacted to the installation of a statue dedicated to the participants of the Nemesis operation in Yerevan, condemning it strongly. The Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that the 'inauguration of the monument glorifies a bloody operation that paved the way for horrific acts of terrorism.'
'Such provocative steps, which are incompatible with the spirit of the normalization process between Turkey and Armenia, will not contribute in any way to efforts aimed at establishing stable peace and security in the region. On the contrary, they will have a negative impact on the normalization process,' the Turkish Foreign Ministry's statement noted.
Earlier, we reported that Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry also commented on the opening ceremony of the statue dedicated to the 'Nemesis' operation in Yerevan, accusing Armenia of wrongdoing.
It should be noted that nearly a century after the Armenian Genocide, a source-memorial commemorating the heroes of the Nemesis operation was ceremoniously opened in the heart of Yerevan, at the fourth section of the Circular Park.
