Russian Tourist Flight Stranded in Cuba
A Russian Nordwind Airlines flight bound for Moscow is stuck at a Cuban airport due to an emergency landing by a Canadian aircraft. The only runway is currently closed.
According to RIA Novosti, travelers reported that the flight N4-3502 was scheduled to depart from Varadero Airport at 10:00 PM, but it has been postponed until 03:00 local time (10:00 Moscow time).
Passengers stated that there are no updated departure times displayed for the Russian aircraft at the airport. Employees of the airport, the airline, and Pegas Touristik have not commented on the situation.
Earlier reports indicated that several banks in Havana, Cuba, had started accepting cards from the Russian Mir payment system. Additionally, tourists can withdraw money using cards from Russian banks.
