Kapan Airport is within range of automatic weapon fire at a distance of 100-200 meters, Abrahamyan
The government is circulating footage of test flights at Kapan Airport, attempting to demonstrate its commitment to the development of Syunik. This was stated by Armenian National Assembly member Tigran Abrahamyan on his Facebook page.
"Let's set aside the fact that the reconstruction of the airport and the establishment of technical capabilities were completed by 2018, but one important factor that government propaganda never mentions is this: when discussions about the operation of Kapan Airport were just beginning, it was located about 100 km away from hostile lines. Now, the same airport, its runway, and the adjacent road of national significance are within the field of fire for ordinary automatic weapons, at a distance of 100-200 meters," the MP wrote.
It should be noted that a Czech-made passenger aircraft, the L-410–UVP E20, which is designed for 19 passengers and registered in the Republic of Armenia, successfully landed at Kapan's "Syunik" airport. Approach schemes were tested for the airport.
