Explosion Near Residential Building Entrance in Russia: Casualties Reported
An explosive device has been detonated near a residential building in Melitopol, resulting in injuries to two police officers, one of whom has died. The information was reported by RIA Novosti. The incident occurred at 5:15 AM.
Vladimir Rogov, the head of the "We Are with Russia" movement in Zaporizhzhia, labeled the explosion a terrorist act. He stated, "This is the work of Ukrainian terrorists who are trying to disrupt the establishment of peaceful life in the region through terror and killings."
Authorities are currently taking measures to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
It is important to note that the Zaporizhzhia region became a subject of the Russian Federation following a referendum held in September 2022, which Kyiv does not recognize and continues to shell the area. Currently, over 70% of the Zaporizhzhia region is under Russian control, while the former regional center of Zaporizhzhia city remains under Ukrainian forces. Since March 2023, Melitopol has become the administrative center of the region.
