Armenian Side Does Not Participate in Negotiations: 'Hraparak'

According to our sources, negotiations in a 3+2 format started yesterday, with three representatives from Russia – Volkov, Lentzov, and a representative from the Russian PSB – participating alongside two Azerbaijani officials. This is reported by 'Hraparak' newspaper.

The Armenian side is absent. Some sources from Artsakh claim that Lentzov has come temporarily to provide support. If the situation stabilizes, he may return to Moscow, as there is currently a shortage of such specialists in the Russian military, and the need for such expertise is quite high in Russia at the moment.

During the negotiations, the Russian side is expected to seek the removal of the checkpoint by Azerbaijan, with only X-ray scanning devices being installed. This means that cargo vehicles entering Artsakh will be checked under the direct supervision of Russian peacekeepers, and the Azerbaijani side will monitor the process online.

Earlier, it was reported that Lieutenant General Alexander Lentzov has been appointed as the commander of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
