Dog Wakes Owner and Saves Him from Fire, But Dies in the Process: Britain

A dog has died in Britain while trying to save its owner during a fire, reports Газета.Ru, referencing Mirror.

Kevin Record was asleep when his dog Shogun woke him up, alerting him to the flames consuming their home. The 43-year-old man opened his eyes to see sparks flying from an electric scooter that was charging. Just moments later, the apartment was engulfed in flames.

Panic-stricken, Kevin managed to escape the smoke-filled room, suffering burns in the process. However, his dog was unable to escape and perished in the fire.

“I’m absolutely shocked by what happened, especially at the loss of Shogun. He meant everything to me, but he died saving my life,” the man commented.

According to initial reports, fire rescue teams indicated that a malfunction occurred while the scooter was charging, causing the battery to overheat and ignite.

Kevin is currently in the hospital's intensive care unit, with 20 percent of his body covered in burns.
