Baku Demands Yerevan to Meet Eight Conditions
The Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN, Yashar Aliyev, stated that for full normalization of relations, Yerevan must fulfill eight conditions. This was reported by Interfax-Azerbaijan.
These conditions were articulated during an open debate of the UN Security Council in New York.
"Armenia must fulfill its international obligations, completely withdraw its armed forces and illegal armed formations from Azerbaijani territory, free the eight border villages still occupied by Azerbaijan, cease and refrain from territorial claims, illegal actions, and misinformation, put an end to landmine terrorism, shed light on the fate of several thousand Azerbaijanis who went missing during the conflict, compensate for the damage caused to Azerbaijan, and conduct negotiations in good faith regarding the signing of a peace treaty and border demarcation between the two states," said Yashar Aliyev.
According to him, Azerbaijan's establishment of a checkpoint near the entrance of the Lachin corridor is based on the fundamental principles of state territorial sovereignty and integrity, as well as their undeniable rights, privileges, and entitlements.
