London High Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Rotenberg
The London High Court has issued an arrest warrant for Natalia Rotenberg, the wife of Tigran Arzakantsyan. According to the British newspaper The Telegraph, the reason is that Rotenberg has refused to pay her divorce lawyers and failed to appear in court.
The publication reports that the court accepted that Natalia Rotenberg has not paid the legal firm Candey £11,500 for services rendered and has missed several court hearings. According to the firm, Rotenberg has “not responded in any way” to attempts to contact her.
The Telegraph notes that for missing the last two hearings, Judge Andrew Rich has already sentenced Rotenberg to three weeks in prison, although she had the opportunity to avoid incarceration if she had attended the court session last Thursday, April 20.
Before marrying Tigran Arzakantsyan, Natalia Rotenberg was married to Russian businessman Arkady Rotenberg from 2005 to 2013. In March 2022, she announced the formation of the “Strength of the Homeland” party with her current husband Tigran Arzakantsyan. Additionally, the party announced that Rotenberg would be their candidate for the position of mayor of Yerevan.
Natalia Rotenberg has long sought to have her marriage agreement with the Russian businessman declared invalid through the court, trying to obtain half of Rotenberg's fortune. The court proceedings concluded in July 2016. Arkady Rotenberg had requested the London court not to disclose the terms of the divorce.
In 2020, Arkady Rotenberg initiated court proceedings in the UK's Court of Appeal, contesting the transfer of a £27.5 million property to his ex-wife located about 50 kilometers from central London, near the village of Bagshot in Surrey County. In 2021, the court ruled in favor of the businessman.
